Why would you need to do this? - While many students will probably never use this on work, there are some students whom may happen to find a flash game they really want to use in a presentation or some such. How to do it? - This is a very simple process.
*Note* This was done on a windows computer, not sure on Macs *Note* If there is nothing like what is shown above after typing swf in the search bar, then it is not downloadable from the site(Newgrounds is one of the sites confirmed to work) *Note* This is only for the Google Chrome Browser, it WILL NOT WORK on Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox and Safari |

Interesting, but I think it would be more useful if you explain the educational application of this, such using this method to download (for example) something like: http://www.presentek.com/services/interactiveflash. Also explain that if the .swf file address isn't complete, append it to the root of the domain. In the above example, searching for .swf gives you /gallery/rqt/wbdi_workflow.swf which you should attach to the end of http://www.presentek.com/.
ReplyDeleteAnd by the way, it does work on Macs (Use Cmd ⌘ instead of Ctrl), and on Firefox (Same shortcuts) and Safari (Alt ⌥+Cmd ⌘+U and Cmd ⌘+F). Not sure about IE. You shouldn't have said "WILL NOT WORK", instead, just test it on your friend's computer or another browser next time. We should be as platform compatible as possible. Another thing is, I don't think most people will go through the hassle of downloading two programs just to download one .swf file. I'm pretty sure this goes for PCs as well, but in Firefox and Safari on Macs at least, you can just go to the actual .swf address, and click File -> Save Page As. I would also recommend people just open the .swf in their browser, instead of with a standalone program. You may like to update the post. I apologize if I sound too harsh or critical here. I'm just trying to make things more simple and accessible for people.
